The Future Of Nursing Informatics

     For me, the future of nursing informatics is us, STUDENT NURSES, the TECHNOLOGY and the EFFECTIVE USE OF IT! Without us, who will have power over the medical devices in the healthcare settings? Without technology, what will we manipulate? And even if there’s technology, what will happen if there is ineffective use of it? The future of nursing informatics is parallel to the future of the hospitals or healthcare departments.

          The future of the people’s lives depend on nurses and soon to be nurses, that is why nurses should practice to the full extent of their education and training, they should achieve higher levels of education and training through an improved education system that promotes flawless academic progression, they should be full partners, with physicians and other health care professionals, in redesigning health care in the United States, and the effective workforce planning and policy making requires better data collection and an improved information infrastructure.

          There are numerous technologies present in the healthcare settings; this indicates the increasing demand of the healthcare professionals and at the same time, the patients for safer, faster and more efficient care. Let’s do our best every time because the lives of the patients are in our hands. So let’s work together with technology!

Factors Of Nursing Knowledge On Health Care Informatics.

For us to understand better what this blog is all about, we should first define the terms mentioned above. First, what is nursing knowledge? Nursing knowledge defines us, as a nurse, as opposed to similar professions such as doctors or physiotherapists and helps to differentiate us care support workers while health care informatics while health care informatics is the scientific field that deals with biomedical information, data, and knowledge - their storage, retrieval and optimal use for problem solving and decision making. It accordingly touches on all basic and applied fields in biomedical science and is closely tied to modern information technologies, notably in the areas of computing and communication.

The terms were already clear, now what are the factors of nursing knowledge on health care informatics? I think, those are 1the theories, frameworks and models that helps build us nurses be stronger, 2the knowledge that we gained through are education and duties 3and our passion in our profession. Our passion in this profession makes us want to improve the field of nursing, right? Therefore, we will explore the world on how to develop it. When the nursing meets the computers... BANG! There was health care informatics. : ) Which made our lives, especially the lives of the nurses, much more easier.
