For me, the future of nursing informatics is us, STUDENT NURSES, the TECHNOLOGY and the EFFECTIVE USE OF IT! Without us, who will have power over the medical devices in the healthcare settings? Without technology, what will we manipulate? And even if there’s technology, what will happen if there is ineffective use of it? The future of nursing informatics is parallel to the future of the hospitals or healthcare departments.
The future of the people’s lives depend on nurses and soon to be nurses, that is why nurses should practice to the full extent of their education and training, they should achieve higher levels of education and training through an improved education system that promotes flawless academic progression, they should be full partners, with physicians and other health care professionals, in redesigning health care in the United States, and the effective workforce planning and policy making requires better data collection and an improved information infrastructure.
There are numerous technologies present in the healthcare settings; this indicates the increasing demand of the healthcare professionals and at the same time, the patients for safer, faster and more efficient care. Let’s do our best every time because the lives of the patients are in our hands. So let’s work together with technology!
